Home is where the hike is

for on the trail I've laid my heart

as from the very start

I felt a deep, unyielding bliss

 

Home is when us hikers meet

a fellowship of joy and strain

for each a friend to gain

chosen kin along this feat

 

Home is how I'll ever see

the angels with their gift

who with their kindness lift

a lifetime's burden free

 

Home is where the hike is

for on the trail I gained a heart

the earth of which I'm part

rejoices in our gentle kiss
